2. What the application does with your data

We reviewed the application's source code and every library it includes. The application:

The only outbound links are the ones you tap yourself in the app footer (the developer's LinkedIn profile and this website), which open in your browser.

3. Your seismic files

You choose a file through the system file picker. The application reads it directly from your device, in the app's own process, to display sections, trace headers, spectra and 3D cubes. Specifically:

4. Accounts and payments

No account registration and no login are required or offered. The application is free. It has no subscriptions, no in-app purchases and no payment processing.

5. Data sharing

Because the application collects no data and makes no network requests, no data is shared with, sold to or transmitted to third parties. Apple and Google may collect their own installation and crash statistics through the App Store and Google Play under their own privacy policies; the developer receives at most aggregated, non-identifying figures from those stores.

6. Data stored on your device, retention and deletion

The application remembers only your display preferences on the device (for example the palette, gain, AGC window, trace page size and header byte positions), in the app's local storage under keys starting with segyViewer.v1.. These values contain no personal information and never leave the device.

7. Your rights

If you are in the European Economic Area, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) gives you rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali). As the application does not process your personal data, there is normally nothing for us to provide or delete, but you can send any privacy question or request to seismicprocess@gmail.com; we answer within one month. If you email us, we use your address only to reply.

8. Children

The application is a technical tool for geophysicists, field crews and students and is not directed at children. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children. The age rating shown in the app stores is determined by the stores' own questionnaires.

9. Changes to this policy

Updates are published on this page, at seismic-processing.com/explorer/privacy.html, with a new "last updated" date. If a future version of the application starts to process personal data, this policy and the App Store privacy details will be updated before that version is released.
